Riverton Utah Engagement Session | Bryson + Amy

Amy and Bryson got married this last September (2017) and their engagement session happened with me two Novembers ago (2016). Going through my archives to update my website has been a lot of fun because I’m finding sessions that I loved and didn’t get around to blogging… but now I am and I’m excited to share this great engagement session with you! I’ve known Bryson since I moved to Riverton Utah in 1999. I went to my 9th grade year of junior high and all of high school with him and his twin brother Tyler.

(Side note: Tyler and his wife Ashley were the very first couple I had in front of my camera when I decided to try my hand at this whole “photographer” thing in 2012. I love them and have photographed them and their growing family almost every year since.)

Bryson and Amy met in Africa. Bryson took just over 6 months off from his every day life and traveled through Africa and Asia. I remember reading his blog about his incredible experiences and I remember the posts from when he met Amy. She was with the Peace Corp in a small village in South Africa teaching the kids. Living without running water and bathing in a bucket. She invited Bryson back to the village with her to see how the natives really live and after spending a few days with her, I’m sure that was it. He went on to Asia and spent time in Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Nepal (and probably some others that I can’t remember) and then went back to South Africa to spend more time with Amy.

Anyway, they were spending Thanksgiving 2016 in Utah and asked if I could do engagement pictures for them and I was so honored and grateful to be asked. Not just because Bryson had been one of my BFFs after high school until he went on his mission, but because Amy is beautiful and I wanted to photograph her! Ha. So now let’s get to it.
