Fall Sleepy Ridge Wedding |Utah Wedding Photographer

Jessica’s husband has asked to stay off all social media and blog posts, so to respect his privacy, this will post will only show details and shots of the bride for this wonderfully fall Sleepy Ridge wedding. (See shots from Jessica’s incredible studio bridal session HERE.) Fall weddings are so, so good.

Review from the Bride

“Whitney made me feel so excited and comfortable, and my husband looks easy-going in all the pictures, which is something even I have yet to learn how to do! She got perfect lighting, the perfect angles. I just keep looking at my pictures over and over.

“I legitimately have folders on my computer titled things like “First Look Pictures,” “First Look Pictures- Favorites,” and “First Look Pictures- Very Favorites” because I have such a difficult time narrowing down which pictures to use whenever I have to pick some. She was the perfect balance of fun and chatty and the good kind of bossy haha! I feel like we really got to know each other a bit and I really, really appreciate that.

“One of the sweetest memories on my wedding day was that she took the time to help me brush back my hair exactly as it needed to be after it got windswept from our epic golf cart ride. I know it was just a few seconds, but it was actually a really tender moment for me. I had worked pretty hard to get that day just as I planned and I had been pretty uptight about being in control, that it was really nice to have someone else be in charge for a second. Even if it was just my hair flyaways.

“But at the same time, I always felt sure that she was confident in her work. I could trust her. She would tell me or my husband that we needed to tip our head and swivel slightly, whatever we needed to do to look the best we could. What a relief to trust her like that! Thank you for everything, Whitney.”

About the Day

This fall day at Sleepy Ridge was so perfect – even with the wind. Jessica and her main squeeze looked absolutely perfect and the day was so emotional and wonderful. Their big day was also extra special for me, because I share the same wedding day as them (and my husband and I were celebrating 16 years… which makes me feel incredibly old to say!).

Here’s what Jess had to say about her big day:

“I really loved standing in the bride’s room with my bridesmaids before the ceremony. It was a minute where all my plans were in place and we just had a moment to do nothing except be together, soaking in the experience.

“I also loved when my husband and I were reading out vows. Going into the day I was worried I’d feel awkward sharing my feelings in front of other people, but it was actually really comfortable. I got to share a glimpse of why he means so much to me and why we decided to be married. I also got to hear him be explicit about how he feels about me, which doesn’t happen all that often, ESPECIALLY in front of other people. So I was really just living right then.

“Another favorite was having friends and family come up to our table to come say hi and chat with us. Everyone wanted to see my dress (which I reveled in). I was so stoked to see some of my favorite people that I wasn’t even (very) bothered that I didn’t get to finish my Penguin Brothers.”
