Stein Eriksen Snowy Winter Engagement Session

Talia and Chaim – a true COVID/2020 wedding with so many changes. We had planned to meet for their engagement session in the spring of 2020. Then we changed to the summer of 2020. And then their winter engagement session took place the day before their wedding ceremony in December.

Snow is Magical

I know that winter isn’t usually everyone’s first choice for their engagement sessions. No one wants red noses, ears or fingers, right? Not to be documented in photos that you hope to share for years and years. But I do love when it works out for a session in the winter – especially when it snows. Snow makes everything feel more magical.

We kept things as simple as possible for their engagement session at Stein Eriksen. We stayed on property and ducked inside between locations to try to warm back up. The Flagstaff deck and just outside the Mountain Lodge where you have mountain access (to ski in and ski out) were our locations for photos. Engagements pictures are more about the two of you – and less about the location. I use these sessions as a “getting to know you” for my clients and myself together. A chance for us to be comfortable together with the camera before the big day happens.

Talia and Chaim’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maebe, also joined us for pictures. The snow was a little shocking for her, so she was in and out of shots trying to stay warm.

It is currently snowing heavily outside my window as I’m creating this blog post so all of these images feel extra fitting today.

Their wedding day will be coming soon – it will be featured online on a wedding blog, so we need to be patient for that to come out. (Utah Valley Bride is one of my very favorite publications!)
