I can’t tell you how much I love being part of all of the events on a wedding weekend. Being part of a rehearsal dinner offers more time for me to get to know you, your family, and your guests and in a much “lower pressure” situation. When I say “lower pressure” I mean lower pressure both for your guests and for me as your photographer. It should not be a surprise to hear that a wedding day comes with high pressure situations. A rehearsal or welcome dinner offers a more casual environment to chat and hug and laugh with your friends and family, without a lot of expectation to preform, if you know what I mean.
I love that Alycia and Lars chose a different venue for their rehearsal dinner. I think that the views up at the High West Distillery in Kamas, Utah are some of the most unique. When you are offering a destination wedding experience for your guests, it’s especially fun to give them as much variety in their experience as possible.
High West Distillery Rehearsal Dinner
Guests were greeted by the couple and encouraged to embrace their time in the Mountain West with a theme of Rocky Mountain chic. I especially enjoyed getting to be part of the theme myself and pulled out my dusty cowboy boots from years long past.
July in the Rocky Mountain’s is so beautiful and (usually) lush. Just look at all of the gorgeous shades of green in those quaking aspen trees!
The night was enjoyed in the company of friends and many, many, MANY toasts were made to the couple. Lots of laughter and roasting and sentiment and happy tears. These two are so loved.
