Catherine and Victor. Vic and Cat. I like these two. You are going to like these two too. So I’m going to tell you all about them. Actually, that’s a lie, I’m going to let Catherine tell you about how they met and how Victor proposed.
The Proposal:
“Victor and I met on a trip to Moab that our mutual friend put together. I actually went there for another guy and ended up locking eyes with Vic over pancakes. He was so happy and energetic. We ended up talking for a while and had a great conversation before leaving Moab. He contacted me when we got home and we went out on our first date shortly after. On our first date, we went to a Christmas choir performance and I actually ended up ripping my skirt trying to climb into his big truck and had a fun time trying to keep myself covered the rest of the night.
“We dated on and off for a year and a half. During the summer of 2016, we took a trip to Texas and visited his hometown. We met some of his family and spent the entire trip doing service projects for his friends and family members. It was blazing hot and I have never worked so hard in my life! I knew on the trip that I had fallen in love with him, it just took him a little bit longer to catch up to me. We broke up a few weeks after the trip, but we kept coming back to each other. We soon realized that we couldn’t imagine our lives without one another.”
I asked Catherine how Vic proposed and this is what she told me: “He proposed to me in my family’s favorite vacation spot, Newport Beach by the wedge in early March. We were watching the sunset and I decided I was too cold. He ran back to the car to get “jackets” only to return in a suit and tie with the ring box in his hand.”
These two are so happy and love to laugh together. Which makes them a good fit for me as their photographer. Because I am funny (obviously!) and love people who love to laugh with me.
At the end of their session, Catherine and I played around with the full sun and tried a couple of experimental shots. I’m not saying I’m going to start doing this all of the time now, but it was fun to try. And Catherine was the perfect model for it.
