New York City Engagement Session: Setting the Scene for France

Allow me to take you on a journey into the heart of the Big Apple, where love blossomed like the early spring trees against the backdrop of iconic landmarks and classic architecture. But first, meet Lloyd and Tim, whose engagement session in New York City was nothing short of a romantic adventure. (Or maybe I’m romanticizing everything because this was my first time in NYC.)

A Parisian Touch in the Heart of NYC

Our day began at Washington Square Park, a place where the essence of Paris meets the bustling streets of New York City. Here, the iconic Washington Square Arch, a miniature version of the Arc de Triomphe, welcomed us with open arms.

This is a not so subtle nod to their upcoming destination wedding in France and the first location that came to mind when we decided on NYC as the city to meet for their engagement pictures. Under the shadow of this iconic arch, Lloyd and Tim hugged, smooched and channeled the love stories of generations past. The city’s energy swirled around them as they walked, laughed, and stole kisses in this urban oasis.

The blend of New York City’s unmistakable charm and a touch of Parisian romance created a scene straight out of a fairy tale. But it was time to move on to our second location.

In the Heart of Manhattan

We made our way (via Uber in crazy NYC traffic) to the incredible New York Public Library, an architectural marvel that absolutely exudes timeless elegance. The grandeur of the library’s Beaux-Arts architecture provided the perfect setting.

We took in all of the angles of the portico, columns, and the steps and then we went around back to Bryant Park to channel Parisian cafes at the tables. (OK not really, but I totally took advantage of those little tables.) We even had a surprise visit from their wedding planner Rachael, bearing a Parisian icon – Angelina hot chocolate!

Capturing Love Amidst Iconic Beauty

Their New York City engagement session was a testament to the magic of iconic locations. From the hallowed halls of the NYPL to the Parisian allure of Washington Square, every moment I spent with them was a celebration of their love story. It was an engagement session filled with love, laughter, and the undeniable charm of the city that never sleeps.

In the heart of New York City, amidst classic architecture and timeless beauty, Lloyd and Tim invited me not only to photograph them, but into their lives. And they are forever in MY heart for it. We ended the night with tacos and cookies and I truly cannot think of a better ending.
