Paris Elopement Locations
Being in the middle of a global pandemic is an interesting experience. The wedding industry has been seriously rocked. Things came to a complete halt in April and now that we are in May, we are slowly opening back up (at least here in Utah). But still the summer wedding season for 2020 is basically non-existent. Fall is still up in the air as well.
With full weddings turning into micro-weddings and elopements, I thought I would share about one of my favorite cities in the world and my favorite locations that I thought would be perfect backdrops for an elopement. Before I name the locations, let me just say that pretty much any street you walk down would be a wonderful backdrop for pictures. Paris is just a magical place like that. And also be warned that yes, you will have to fight the crowds for your pictures. Early, EARLY in the morning is the best time if you’re looking for things to be as empty/all to yourselves as possible.
So here it is: my list of what I think would be the best Paris elopement locations! (And a caveat that I was trying to shoot to cut out people/tourists in my shots, so you won’t see lots of full images of these places – but you get the idea. These aren’t supposed to be shots for you to duplicate! These are for inspiration. You see it and then go and make it your own.)
1. Notre Dame
You won’t get a close up with the Bored Gargoyle in your shots. But I thought you should see him anyway.
There really are so many angles and views of this beautiful piece of history. It’s at the top of this list because it’s my favorite place.
2. Eiffel Tower – Trocadero
This spot is one of the most popular places for views of the Eiffel Tower. If you need more examples, google Eiffel Tower and you’ll get this spot every other photo.
3. Eiffel Tower – Passy
A fun find below the Passy metro station.
4. Palais Royal
5. The Louvre
6. Luxembourg Gardens
7. Place des Vosges
8. Rodin Museum
Love these trees and how they help you feel almost alone at such a busy place.
9. Pantheon
This really was one of our favorite buildings. Loving the columns and clean walls!
And look, some bonus views just around the corner from the front of the Pantheon.
10. Pont Alexandre III
This is the pretty light blue bridge that crosses the Seine between the Grand Palais and Invalides.
There are so many more spots that could have been on this list of Paris elopement locations that I didn’t even make it to, or that in my opinion didn’t make the cut because of the scammers that hassle you to no end at certain locations. (We got it the very worst at Sacre-Coeur, right up close to the Eiffel Tower, and Opera Garnier.)
Just to wrap this up… Paris is magical. I cannot wait to go back. And if you read this, and are planning an elopement in this magical city, I hope you find inspiration for your dream location! (And yes, I do travel and would love to photograph you in any and all of these spots.)
And I’ll leave you with my very favorite view I captured during my trip.
