Herriman Utah Engagement Session | Krysta + Wes

When Krysta reached out about doing an anniversary session with Wes, we needed to find a location that was dog-friendly so that we could include their two dogs in the session. We decided on Butterfield Canyon in Herriman Utah – the dogs could run without the worry of bothering other people and the morning light hitting the copper pit in the background just really make me happy!

OK, so yes I do need to tell you that this is obviously not a true “engagement” session. Krysta and Wes were actually married in 2015 (and you can see their incredible Wyoming wedding right HERE), but the thing with a lot of my former brides is that we still remain friends after the wedding is over and I get the privilege of being their “forever photographer”. And I am so incredibly grateful for it.

Fall Butterfield Canyon Engagement Session

One of my favorite parts about doing anniversary sessions like this with my couples, is how comfortable we are with each other right from the very beginning. I know how nervous my new couples can be when we meet for their engagement session with me… in so many cases, this is their first time really being in front of the camera. But these anniversary sessions? My couples know and trust me. They know my quirky personality. They know my lame jokes. And they know that they are going to get some beautiful images.
