Classic White Wedding at the Montage Deer Valley

By a Park City Wedding Photographer Who Knows the Light, the Landscape, and the Magic of This Venue

A Destination Wedding with Mountain Views and Timeless Style

When Lindsay + Garrett decided to get married at the Montage Deer Valley, they knew they wanted something timeless, elevated, and surrounded by nature — a celebration that would feel like a true experience for their guests. Since they live in Charleston, Utah’s mountains offered the perfect contrast: crisp air, open skies, and a touch of luxury tucked into every detail. As a Montage Deer Valley wedding photographer, I can confidently say: this venue delivers on classic beauty and ease, every single time.

A Ceremony Framed by Mountains and All-White Florals

The couple chose an outdoor ceremony on the Vista Lawn, with panoramic views of the mountains as their backdrop. All of the florals by Janie’s Flowers were white and lush, setting the tone for a clean, refined look that felt both sophisticated and organic.

There were no over-the-top installations or trendy distractions — just a beautifully executed floral aisle, the fresh air, and a setting that let the moment speak for itself. I loved that they chose to do a ground arch, so as to fully show off the mountain views for their guests (and their photos!).

First Look in Full Sunlight (and Yes, It Worked)

Sometimes the only time that works for a first look is early afternoon — right in the middle of the brightest sunshine in June. Harsh light can be tricky, but with the right angles, positioning, and some thoughtful locations around the property, it still turned out to be a beautiful part of the day.

Photographer Tip: The Montage has a few spots with open shade, clean architecture and soft stone tones that reflect light in a really flattering way — even midday. If you’re planning a similar timeline, there are ways to make it work. Especially if you are willing to save the views of the mountains for sunset.

Dinner and Dancing (with a Live Band) in the Grand Ballroom

After the ceremony, guests went to cocktail hour on the lawn and then moved inside to the Grand Ballroom — a perfect space for transitioning from refined to festive. The design stayed consistent: white florals, glowing candles, and elegant tablescapes that felt intentional but not overly formal.

And the best part? A live band that got everyone on the dance floor within five minutes of finishing dinner.

There’s something about a live band at a destination wedding — especially when the guests have traveled and are ready to let loose — that makes the evening feel like a true celebration. (Spoiler: The dance floor was packed all night.)

Why Montage Deer Valley Is a Dream for Destination Weddings

If you’re planning a wedding from out of state (or across the country), venues like the Montage make things seamless — lodging, spa, ceremony sites, indoor options, mountain views — it’s all in one place. That ease lets couples focus on the moments, not the logistics.

And as a Park City wedding photographer, it’s one of my favorite places to shoot because of the variety it offers:

  • Open air and clean backdrops
  • Neutral tones that let florals pop
  • Stunning golden hour light (especially behind the lawn)
  • A ballroom that photographs beautifully, even at night

Final Thoughts from a Montage Deer Valley Wedding Photographer

Weddings like this one remind me why Park City is such a magical place to get married. When you combine an elegant vision, a great planner, and a venue that takes care of its couples so well, everything else just flows.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels refined, welcoming, and full of meaning, I’d love to help you photograph it.
