Montage Laguna Beach Wedding Venue

Earlier this year, I went to Laguna Beach to help a friend of mine photograph a wedding. I carried her bags and got her rolls of film and fed her gummy bears. And when I wasn’t doing that, I grabbed a few photos around the Montage property because IT IS STUNNING.

Just eating breakfast in the hotel restaurant with my view of the pool and the ocean and feeling the breeze was restorative. I sat for a long time watching the property’s falconer at work (sending his hawk after the pigeons that would try to rest on the roof). This trip was my second trip in a month to help another photographer with a wedding. Just three weeks prior I had been in Miami for the first time. And that day was a lot busier. I didn’t even take my camera with me on that trip.

Maybe its because I have lived in the mountainwest my whole life and have always gone to the west coast, but I love the light and the feeling on the California coast so much more.

Can you spot the wildlife in the bottom middle photo? There were the CUTEST rabbits all over the place – and they don’t even phase the locals, but I was obsessed with them. Maybe because I knew my two girls would love them?

I would very much like to go back to the Montage Laguna Beach very soon. The views of the ocean, the palm trees, the pelicans… that beautiful California light that just seems to make everything more magical…
